The artist

A studio devoted to the places we love

Behind Bahadery Art Gallery is a painter who works in oils and on a generous scale — from intimate canvases to panoramas wider than a sofa, and murals painted straight onto the wall.

The subjects are the places of Afghanistan: its heritage sites, mountain villages and busy old streets, alongside quieter studies of light, water and weather. Each one is painted by hand, layer by layer, until the light feels right.
